Why Red Sprite?
This is a picture of my mom in her Red Austin Healey Sprite car. She passed away when I was a young girl. I came across this picture a few years ago and it put the words Red Sprite together in my head. I decided at that time, that when I started my own company it would be named Red Sprite as a subtle way to honor her and keep her memory close. So while hats have nothing to do with cars, it has everything to do with her.
Red Sprite Hats launched on Kickstarter in July 2020 and was fully funded! Now we are working on bringing these hats to the world!
Who am I?
It's nice to meet you, I'm Jill Putnam. I've always loved hats but found them to cause more frustration than they're usually worth. When I'd go to put one on, my hair was already done up. The hat wouldn't go on because it wasn't lined up correctly with my hairstyle or my hair was in too big of a messy bun to fit through the small hole. In 2019, I thought, there has to be a better way. I decided to come up with it myself, and here we are! Now I'm wearing a hat almost every day for at least an hour or two as I work in the garden, go to the park or run errands.
I am married with 2 kids. Professionally, I spent over 13 years climbing the Accounting ladder in the corporate world. Everything from Accountant to Controller to Finance Director. I love spending time outdoors, goofing around with my family, and Disneyland.
